Dr.Alexandra Jayne Seymour

Alex graduated from Newcastle University in 2017 with Merit in Clinical Dentistry and joined {my}dentist in 2018. Since then, she has qualified in short term orthodontics providing clear aligner treatment using Invisalign Go. As well as teeth straightening, Alex enjoys enhancing people’s smiles with a range of other cosmetic treatments such as whitening and composite bonding. She recently completed a postgraduate certificate in dental implants studying at Cambridge Academy of Implantology and offers this treatment to patients at Dean Road. This is a great option to restore gaps and replace missing teeth.
In her spare time she enjoys walking her dog, holidays, cycling and trying new restaurants.

Dr.Darren Hand

Darren graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Newcastle in 2001. He then gained many years experience in general practice, providing advanced sedation techniques to anxious adults and children, obtaining further postgraduate qualifications with a Diploma in Conscious Sedation and Membership in the Faculty of Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He then furthered his clinical skills and knowledge by undertaking several speciality posts including Paediatric Dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Darren undertook his specialist training in orthodontics at Manchester Dental Hospital and was awarded a Masters in Clinical Dentistry (Orthodontics) and also obtained his Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of London. This entitled him to register on the General Dental Council's specialist list to provide services as a specialist orthodontist.

Dr.Elizabeth Hardy

Elizabeth, who more often goes by Beth, graduated from Newcastle University in 2020 and completed her vocational training in Sunderland. She later joined us at Dean Road where she carries out both NHS and private work such as teeth whitening, composite bonding and teeth straightening and is one of our ClearCorrect and Enlighten Whitening providers.
Beth enjoys building rapport with her patients and providing support to those who need help to overcome any anxieties they have around their dental treatment.
Being local to the North East, Beth enjoys walks along the area’s beautiful beaches with her golden retriever Oscar, as well as eating out and travelling.

Dr.Helen McKeever

Helen graduated from Queens University of Belfast in 2020 with a degree plus in Dentistry and moved to the North East of England to complete her vocational training. She later joined us at Dean Road in 2021 where she carries out both NHS and private dentistry and uses digital technology in her workflow. Helen is a certified provider of Invisalign Go and ClearCorrect and is one of our Enlighten Whitening providers. She is currently furthering her already expanding skill set by undertaking an endodontics course.
Helen has a calming and reassuring approach and is a firm favourite with some of our more nervous patients and prides herself on building trust and friendly rapport.
Outside of work Helen likes cooking, traveling, outdoor activities such as hiking and football and Barre classes.

Dr.Laura Jessica Routledge

Laura graduated from the University of Leeds in 2018 with a distinction. After graduating she successfully completed her dental foundation training in Hull in 2019. During this time she participated in the nationally-recognised ‘Teeth Team’ initiative which provided a great insight into child dental health.
Laura was awarded the prestigious FGDP (Faculty of General Dental Practice UK) ‘Best Milestone Case’ for her scheme as well as a highly commended clinical case.
She returned back to the North East in 2019 and has continued to develop further skills involving oral surgery and restorative dentistry.
Laura is passionate about using minimally invasive dentistry and educating patients in maintaining excellent oral hygiene and preventing dental diseases.
She is a certified provider of both Clear-Correct and Invisalign Go clear aligners. She is keen to incorporate modern dental techniques into her work and has underwent further training in ‘Smilefast’. She is interested in combining both orthodontic and restorative treatment to provide patients with long-term aesthetic and functional treatments.
In October 2021 she will be commencing a highly recognised post-graduate year long programme in ‘Cosmetic Dentistry and Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry’.
Outside of work Laura enjoys cooking, exercising and travelling.

Dr.Michael Hicks

Michael qualified with Honours from the University of Manchester in 2012. Following his foundation year, he embarked on further training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the North of England. Michael has a special interest in oral surgery and a passion for dental implantology. He was awarded his Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Implant Dentistry with Distinction at Newcastle University.
Alongside his commitments to clinical practice, Michael is an active member of the dental profession and is a UK Dental Ambassador for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He enjoys educating the future of the dental profession in his role as an Associate Clinical Lecturer in Oral Surgery, at Newcastle University. He is a regular speaker to Postgraduate Dentists at Health Education England and provides hands-on training to dentists in the North East.
Michael’s foremost commitments are to his patients and the profession, and he was recognised for this at the UK Dental Awards and the {my}dentist Clinical Excellence Awards as a Young Dentist of the Year commended finalist. He has a relaxed and reassuring manner, and is happy to help you, whether you need a wisdom tooth removing, or your smile improving.

Dr.Nicholas Robert John Leach

Born in the suburbs of South London, Nick moved to the United Arab Emirates at a very young age and grew up in the city of Abu Dhabi. He returned to the UK to study Biochemistry at Newcastle University where his research focused on skin regeneration using stem cells. Another move abroad to Spain followed and he qualified from La Universidad Europea de Madrid with a degree in dentistry.
After successfully completing his foundation training in North Cumbria, he returned to Newcastle to take up his first associate role at {my}dentist. Nick has special interests in dental and facial cosmetic procedures. He provides bespoke smile makeovers through invisible teeth straightening, whitening, veneers and crowns. He is also an advanced facial aesthetics doctor, implementing subtle and natural enhancements to the skin and face.
In his spare time, he enjoys keeping fit at the gym, snowboarding, playing Golf and is a member of Jesmond Lawn Tennis Club.

Dr.Sadia Bokhari

Sadia started her career in Pakistan after graduating in 2001 and worked in hospitals and private facilities. Sadia started working as a general dentist in 2012 in the UK. As a strong believer in learning, Sadia completed a Postgraduate certificate in Prosthodontics and Postgraduate Diploma in Orthodontics and is currently a Member of British Orthodontic Society and the European Orthodontic Society. She has developed herself as a dentist with special interest in Orthodontics. She offers fixed braces, clear aligners and several cosmetic treatments. Sadia regularly attends conferences and courses to keep up with the recent technologies and advancements in general dentistry and in Orthodontics to benefit her patients. She is also member of British Orthodontic Society and European Orthodontic Society. In her spare time she is a busy wife and mum of three boys, loves to have family gatherings, watching movies and series in her own time.

Miss .Louise Hedley

Louise qualified with Honours from Teesside University in 2021, following a successful 18 year career as an Advanced Dental Nurse. Louise brings a wealth of experience to her role as Dental Therapist with special interests in Paediatric Dentistry, Implant Maintenance and providing treatment to anxious patients. She has a real passion for the delivery and provision of oral health care and strives to provide patients with the best care and treatment that they deserve. She is currently studying to enable herself to provide inhalation sedation to our patients.
Outside of dentistry, Louise is also studying a Masters in Public Health. Alongside expanding her knowledge and skills in the field, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, travelling and exploring new destinations and listening to live music.

Mr.Grenville Moore

Grenville graduated from Sheffield University with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1993 after five years of study at the Dental School. As well as general dentistry, he has an interest in sedation, which led him to complete his post graduate diploma in conscious sedation in 2003. With this he is able to provide the highest standard of sedation techniques to help nervous patients overcome their dental fears and have treatment. Grenville is also an active member of the Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry (SAAD).
Since leaving university, Grenville has worked in general practice as an associate dentist in both NHS and private settings around the north-east. He also spent several years working part-time in the sedation department at Newcastle Dental Hospital before he began working at Queensway in January 2014. Grenville is also passionate and highly experienced in the composite bonding area of dentistry and takes great pride in his work.

Raymond joined the {my}dentist family in 2014 as part of the Reception Team and went on to qualify as a registered Dental Nurse. Through his vast experience in and out of surgery, he then took on the role as Treatment Co-Ordinator in May 2018 where he enjoys helping people choose their treatment options and working closely with our clinicians in practice to ensure we provide our patients with a first class service. Raymond is passionate about our patient journey, from assessment and advice through to treatment completion and finds his role rewarding when witnessing the life and smile changing results provided by our talented team. Consultations with Raymond are free, where you can get friendly advice on treatment options, costs, finance and guidance on oral hygiene products. Outside of work Raymond enjoys reading, cooking and time with his family.

Ms.Hayley Gray

Hayley is one of our Orthodontic Therapists here at Dean Road. She started her career in dentistry as a general Dental Nurse before moving onto orthodontics. After working in a general practice for several years, she then changed direction to qualify as an Orthodontic Therapist.
Hayley is passionate about her role within our Team and works very closely to one of our Specialist Orthodontists and Nursing team. One of the biggest parts of her job she enjoys is meeting new people every day and helping her patients achieve a smile they’re proud of. Another passion is educating her patients in oral hygiene techniques when wearing their braces.
All of her spare time is taken up by her little girl by keeping her entertained, going on long walks, bike rides and looking for new adventures.

Nicole qualified at Bristol School in 1989 as a hygienist and now lives back in Sunderland with her husband Patrick, two daughters, Scarlett and Erin and a menagerie of animals including 2 cockapoos, cats, fish and a tortoise! How does she find the time? During her long established career, Nicole has built up a large patient base and she reports that she loves working as part of such a successful team!
Nicole’s favourite part of the job is motivating patients and seeing continued improvement in their Oral Health which is evidence on their regular and routine visits to see her.
She also likes a good natter, which patients love!
